The Renewed Freedom Center is happy to announce that we have completely renewed our image! As we kick off the New Year, the Renewed Freedom Center is proud to share the recent completion of our expanding facility!
During the second half of last year, RFC welcomed several clinical interns and therapists to our staff.
Rebecca Fountain, M.A., Salma Wahidi, B.S., and Lily Spost, B.A. are our three psychological interns from the Clinical Program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology – Los Angeles under the supervision of RFC’s Director of Training, Sarah A. Haider, Psy.D.
Rebecca has worked as a behavioral interventionist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and has gained enhanced experience applying evidence-based social skills intervention with adolescents on the Autism spectrum at the UCLA PEERS program. She has also conducted diagnostic evaluations pertaining to depression, bipolar, and psychotic disturbance in psychiatric inpatient settings.
While living in Pakistan, Salma initiated ground-breaking treatment for adolescents who were orphaned as a result of war. She also has years of experience working with children and adolescents suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and depression. She is fluent in Farsi, Urdu, and English.
Lily has experience working with adolescents dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, trauma, and anger. She is a co-leader of R.E.A.C.T.T., a trauma group based out of the Chicago School, and has presented with this group at the Crisis Intervention Training in 2011.
Mark Veldkamp, M.A. is an MFT intern who has had extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are survivors of sexual violence, victims and witnesses of crimes, and other traumatic events. In addition, he also works as part of the behavioral intervention team at UCLA.
Wesley Stahler, LMFT, RDT, ECMH is the newest addition to the RFC Team. Aside from being a Marriage and Family Therapist, she is also a Drama Therapist and an Endorsed Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician. She has over 20 years working with children and their caregivers providing families with developmental guidance, relational support, and strength-based tools for growth and change. She has worked extensively with various populations, ranging from prisoners and their children to medically fragile children along with families of substance abuse and trauma histories.
To accommodate our growing staff, we have also expanded our space! The Renewed Freedom Center is now located at 1849 Sawtelle Blvd., Suite 543 Los Angeles, CA 90025. We’re still in the same building, but have moved to a bigger, better suite!
With the new expansion, we look forward to continue our mission of providing the most advanced, short-term treatment to individuals and families suffering from severe OCD and Anxiety Disorders. Cheers to a happy, healthy new year!
